Call: ‘Artist residency for sculptors’

Who belongs in the countryside? 

Duration: 15.7. – 24.8.2025, main event is on 23.8.2025, apply by 20.6.2025 

Scholarship: 1.500 € plus free room and grants for travel&material 

Stallmuseum e.V. is a non-profit NGO in the village of Groß Fredenwalde in he core of the Uckermark-region about 1hrs. north of Berlin. We maintain the estates and legacy of the artist Inge Mahn (†2023) and organize exhibitions and residencies on the premises of the sculptor. Our main approach is the concept of social plastic, to get people, public and audiences involved in creative and artistic and sustainable ways.  

In summer of 2025 we are offering an artist residency combined with a scholarship for artists living and/or working in poland. During this residency the artists will work on our annual exhibition series titled ‘Who belongs in the countryside?’. During the residency the artist will also take part in small events connected to the village and the region. The artists applying for the residency have already collected professional experiences in artistic work with different materials or media or spatial designs, participative work with different audiences and are open to rural life and working in the countryside. We cooperate with the University of Arts in Poznań. 

We offer: 

• free room and studio for stay and work in rural countryside close to a lake 

• scholarship and grants for travel&material 

• support from local community, student interns and members of NGO 

• expertise in creating encounters, exchange and events connected to aims and methods of artist 

• attention of public and media connected to work of Stallmuseum e.V. 

We expect: 

• open and flexible mindset in combination with clear objectives 

• social and communication skills, incl. public events (e.g.: workshops, excursions)
